Sometimes A Joke About A Serious Topic Is So On Point You Have To Applaud It
Amy Poehler was new to SNL and we were all crowded into the seventeenth-floor writers’ room, waiting for the Wednesday read-through to start. There were always a lot of noisy ‘comedy bits’ going on in that room. Amy was in the middle of some such nonsense with Seth Meyers across the table, and she did something vulgar as a joke. I can’t remember what it was exactly, except it was dirty and loud and ‘unladylike.’
Jimmy Fallon, who was arguably the star of the show at the time, turned to her and in a faux-squeamish voice said, ‘Stop that! It’s not cute! I don’t like it.’
Amy dropped what she was doing, went black in the eyes for a second, and wheeled around on him. ‘I don’t fucking care if you like it.’ Jimmy was visibly startled. Amy went right back to enjoying her ridiculous bit. (I should make it clear that Jimmy and Amy are very good friends and there was never any real beef between them. Insert penis joke here.)
With that exchange, a cosmic shift took place. Amy made it clear that she wasn’t there to be cute. She wasn’t there to play wives and girlfriends in the boys’ scenes. She was there to do what she wanted to do and she did not fucking care if you like it.
Ms. Shawna Mills, aka LazyMills has been on my radar for some time. Hailing from my hometown of NYC, the soft spoken 2D animator/concept designer’s work does a lot of the talking with it’s loud, boisterous and “IDGAF” treatment to shape laws and rules. She’s one of my favorite people working and she’s one of the few ladies of color in animation who has their own voice.
Protective Styling Ideas || Box Braids Tutorial
Hey guys, here’s a quick and easy tutorial on how to do box braids on natural hair. I really like this method because it isn’t super tight at the root and does not leave that stiff feeling, so if you’re tender headed this may be a plus for you!
Got some good shots of my casual BMO!!! I prefer doing much more involved cosplays but gosh it was such a last minute idea! Well, I did at least have bubble with me ;u; and I’m glad it came together in the end!!! Oh man, my wristbands lit up and junk but it was a little too bright outside to see x0
P.S. I’m trying to throw some BMO shade in that last pic…
I’m not very good at it haha
Notice only 20 shades of gray
It’s been proven that women actually have an acute ability to pick up subtle differences in colors
Then I might be a man because I only see like eight colors in all that mess…
thats probably also because like 1/12 men have some sort of color vision deficiency while only 1/255 women do so
This turned out more interesting than I thought it’d be… Wow.
